1.Waterfront Market presents Carry What Matters, inviting the community students, artists, families, and residents (each a “Participant”) to creatively express how food connects people, using a canvas bag design competition “Carry What Matters” as the medium, amplifying themes of sustainability, creativity and culture by telling their story through the design. Participants have the chance to enter the “Carry What Matters” competition (“Campaign”) and share their great artwork with the chance for one Participant to win the grand prize of AED 10,000 from Waterfront Market (“Grand Prize”). The winner of the Grand Prize (the “Winner”) will be selected at the end of the Campaign Period. This Campaign is organised by Waterfront Market LLC (the “Organiser”).

How to Enter the Grand Prize:
- How to enter: Submit your canvas bag design (“Artwork”) in portrait A3 size high resolution by sending it via direct message on Instagram (@wfm.uae) or Facebook (@wfmuae). Please include your name, age and a short description of your inspiration.
- Community-driven design challenge: Waterfront Market invites UAE residents to take part in designing limited-edition canvas bags centred on celebrating the power of food, culture, and sustainability aligned with the UAE’s wider ‘Proud of UAE’ spirit.
- Theme: Design a reusable bag that celebrates the UAE’s food culture, capturing the ingredients, traditions, and everyday moments that define how we shop, cook, and eat.
- Artist recognition: The selected Artwork (the “Winning Design”) will win AED 10,000 and will be produced as high-quality canvas bags featuring a credit line inside to honour the Winner.
- Last day of Entry: Last day of entry is June 30 2026 to enter and have the chance to win the Grand Prize and see the Winning Design brought to life.
- The last day of entry set out above is subject to change without prior notice and at the Organiser’s sole discretion.
- Grand reveal: The Winning Design is scheduled to debut on 03 July 2026 at the Waterfront Market in celebration of International Plastic Bag Free Day, with live artist showcases and an exclusive release of limited-edition canvas bags (the “Limited-Edition Bags”) available to the public.
- Fill in your details (name, age and description of the Artwork inspiration) to submit your Grand Prize entry on the third party digital social media platform @wfm.uae.
- Participants must be UAE residents.
- Participants can submit a maximum of 3 Grand Prize entries throughout the entire Campaign Period.
- The Artwork must be 100% created by the Participant; any entries judged not to have been created by the person submitting them will be disqualified. The Artwork must not infringe the rights of any third party.
- AI-generated designs are not permitted. The Artwork must be manually drawn and coloured; digitally created Artwork will not be accepted.
- The Organiser reserves the right to request Participants to recreate their designs to confirm authenticity and originality.
- Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the Campaign Period to enter the contest. Participants under the age of 18 years at the commencement of the Campaign Period (21 May 2026) may only enter the Campaign with the prior written consent of their parent or legal guardian. By submitting an entry on behalf of, or in relation to, a Participant under the age of 18, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions on behalf of the Participant and accept full responsibility for the Participant's entry and conduct in connection with the Campaign. The Organiser may request written evidence of such parental or guardian consent at any time, and entries may be disqualified if such evidence is not provided to the Organiser’s reasonable satisfaction.
2.Employees of Ithra Dubai LLC, Deira Waterfront Development LLC, Deira Waterfront Development Holdings LLC, Waterfront Market LLC (and all of these companies' subsidiaries, affiliates, companies under their management and other related companies) and employees of traders operating within Waterfront Market are not eligible to enter the Campaign, even if they make an Eligible Purchase.
3.Grand Prize redemption mechanism:
a.The Winner of the Grand Prize will be notified via the email address and mobile phone number they registered as part of the Campaign. Notification will be made by email, phone call or SMS message. If the Winner does not respond to the initial notification, the Organiser will make the following additional attempts to notify the Winner:
i.Second Attempt: two (2) days after the initial notification attempt.
ii.Final Attempt: two (2) days after the second attempt.
b.In the event that the Winner does not respond following all three notification attempts set out in sub-clause 3(a) above, the Organiser reserves the right to rescind the Grand Prize award and select a new Winner at its sole discretion.
c.The Organiser will carry out document checks before issuing the Grand Prize to the Winner, including, without limitation, to verify the Winner's identity and age. The required documents will include: original national identification document (passport or Emirates ID) and the original Artwork submitted as part of the Winning Design. If the Winner fails to provide the requested identification document and/or original Artwork, or, if the Organiser is not satisfied (at its sole discretion) with the documents provided, the Organiser reserves the right not to issue the Grand Prize to that Winner. The Organiser's decision in this regard shall be final and binding and it shall not be obliged to provide a reason for any such refusal.
d.The Winner will be required to be physically present at Waterfront Market at the time of collection of the Grand Prize on 03 July 2026. The Organiser will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the Winner in connection with attending for collection of the Grand Prize.
e.Any failure by the Winner to be physically present at Waterfront Market at the time of collection of the Grand Prize on 03 July 2026 and/or any failure to present original identification documents as required under sub-clause 3(d) above may result in the Grand Prize being rescinded and a new Winner being selected by the Organiser at its sole discretion.
4.The Winner will be selected by a panel of judges (the “Judges”) appointed by the Organiser.
a.The judging process is scheduled to take place on 01 July 2026. The Organiser reserves the right to change the judging date without prior notice, at its sole discretion.
b.The Judges will assess all valid entries received during the Campaign Period and select the Winning Design based on the following criteria:
i.originality and creativity of the Artwork;
ii.relevance to the Campaign theme; and
iii.quality of execution.
c.The Judges' decision as to the Winning Design shall be final and binding in all respects. No correspondence, appeals or discussions will be entered into by the Organiser or the Judges in connection with the judging process or any decision made in connection with it.
d.In the event that the Artwork of the Winner is subsequently found to be ineligible for any reason (including, without limitation, non-compliance with the Artwork requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions), the Judges may, at the Organiser's sole discretion, select an alternative Winning Design from the remaining valid entries.
5.This Campaign cannot be combined with any other offer, discount or Campaign unless otherwise stated by us. We reserve the right to amend or cancel the Campaign or these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice, at our sole discretion.
6.Participants will not be entitled to, and we will not offer, an alternative to the Prizes or Grand Prize or any alternative prize. The Grand Prize will be awarded in the form of a cheque.
7.A Participant may be disqualified by the Organiser from the Campaign in the event of any misappropriation, misconduct or breach of these terms and conditions, whether before or after the winner selection date, as determined by the Organiser at its sole discretion. Disqualification may occur at any stage of the Campaign, including after the Grand Prize has been awarded, but prior to collection, in which case the Grand Prize may be rescinded and a new Winner selected.
8.Insofar as is permitted by applicable law, Ithra Dubai LLC, Deira Waterfront Development LLC, Deira Waterfront Development Holdings LLC, Waterfront Market LLC (and all of the preceding companies' subsidiaries, affiliates, companies under their management and other related companies) will not in any circumstances accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of running the Campaign and/or issuing the Grand Prize. In the circumstances where such exclusion of liability is held to be void or unenforceable, the total aggregate liability of Ithra Dubai LLC, Deira Waterfront Development LLC, Deira Waterfront Development Holdings LLC, Waterfront Market LLC (and all of the preceding companies' subsidiaries, affiliates, companies under their management and other related companies) shall not exceed AED 100 (one hundred UAE dirhams).
9.As entries to this Campaign are submitted via social media direct message, Participants will confirm their agreement to these terms and conditions and their consent to the processing of their personal data for the purposes set out in the privacy policy below by replying to the Organiser’s direct message response with the details requested therein. By providing the requested details and sending their reply, Participants confirm that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions in their entirety and consent to receiving marketing communications from the Organiser. A Participant who does not provide a valid reply confirmation will not be treated as having submitted a valid entry into the Campaign. The Organiser reserves all rights in interpreting and enforcing these terms and conditions. The Organiser has no control over the third-party social media platforms through which the direct messages will be submitted and accepts no liability for any failure to receive or respond to any direct message (including any Artwork) through these third-party social media platforms.

The Winning Design will be produced as Limited-Edition Bags for release at Waterfront Market. The Limited-Edition Bags will be made available by Waterfront Market to the public free of charge and the Winner will not be eligible to receive, and will not receive, any financial benefit relating to the distribution of the Limited-Edition Bags. For the avoidance of doubt, the Grand Prize shall constitute the sole and complete financial entitlement of the Winner in connection with the Campaign, the Winning Design and the Limited-Edition Bags.
10.All Artwork and the Limited-Edition Bags, once produced, shall be and remain the sole and exclusive property of the Organiser. The Participants, including the Winner, shall have no proprietary interest in, ownership of or claim over, the Artwork, the Winning Design and/or the Limited-Edition Bags.
11.Without prejudice to clause 10 above, the Winner will receive a printed credit inside each Limited-Edition Bag in the form "Designed by [Name], UAE" or such other form as the Organiser may agree with the Winner in writing. The printed credit is provided as recognition only; it does not constitute an endorsement by the Winner of any particular use of the Limited-Edition Bags, and it does not give rise to any financial entitlement or ownership or other right on the part of the Winner.
12.By submitting Artwork as part of the Campaign, each Participant irrevocably assigns to the Organiser (and its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates and companies under its management) all intellectual property rights in and to their submitted Artwork, including all copyright and related rights, in perpetuity, throughout the world and in all media and formats, whether now known or hereafter devised, including the right to transfer or sub-license those rights to third parties. This assignment applies to all Artwork submitted by Participants during the Campaign Period, not just the Winning Design. Each Participant waives any moral rights they may have in respect of their submitted Artwork to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. The Organiser shall have the right to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, and distribute submitted Artwork (including the Winning Design) on Limited-Edition Bags and all other marketing collateral (digital or otherwise), without any obligation to seek further consent from the Participant or to pay any royalties or other form of compensation.

14.The Campaign, and these terms and conditions, are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable federal laws of the UAE and the courts of Dubai shall be the exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute relating to the Campaign or these terms and conditions.

We will process the following Participants’ personal data as part of the Campaign:

- UAE city of residence
- image and voice (through photographs or video recordings) (including the photograph of the Winner).
By consenting to our use of their personal data, Participants confirm that the personal data they provide to us is complete, up to date and accurate. If it is not, we may not be able to contact the Participants in relation to the Campaign.
Our purposes for processing Participants’ personal data
Participants’ personal data will be processed in relation to the Campaign. This will involve the processing of Participants’ personal data in the following ways:
- registering the Participants’ contact details as part of the Campaign.
- updating the Participants on the Campaign.
- notifying Participants of similar Campaigns in the future or other Waterfront Market events.
- promoting the Campaign and the Waterfront Market generally on our public social media platforms and through other digital marketing campaigns.
How we collect Participants’ personal data
We will collect Participants’ personal data directly from the Participants via their social media direct messages. Most of the personal data we collect will be provided by the Participants as part of the Campaign registration process. We will not be collecting personal data relating to Participants from any third-party sources.
How long do we retain Participants’ personal data
We will retain Participants’ personal data for the Campaign Period and then for a period of up to 2 years after the Campaign to notify Participants of similar future Campaigns or other Waterfront Market events.
Who will access Participants’ personal data
Participants’ personal data will be shared with our subsidiaries, affiliates, companies under our management and other related companies. We may share Participants’ personal data on our public social media platforms and with other third parties in the future (e.g. as part of digital marketing campaigns or when we organize similar Campaigns so that Participants’ can be contacted about these Campaigns). We may also provide Participants’ personal data to third-party media organizations and/or government authorities, if required.
Where do we process Participants’ personal data
Participants’ personal data will be processed in the United Arab Emirates. We will not transfer Participants’ personal data outside of the United Arab Emirates.
Exercising rights in relation to Participants’ personal data
Participants have certain rights, depending on the applicable data protection law, in relation to the processing of their personal data. These rights may include: the right to receive information about how we process their personal data (including the purposes for processing, who we share their personal data with and the protections we put in place to ensure their personal data stays secure when sharing their personal data); to correct any inaccuracies in their personal data; to stop or restrict their personal data being processed in certain circumstances; and to have their personal data deleted or transferred.
Consent for marketing purposes
As entries to this Campaign are submitted via social media direct message, Participants will confirm their agreement to the privacy policy and their consent to the processing of their personal data for the purposes set out in the privacy policy above, including marketing, by replying to the Organiser’s direct message response with the details requested above. Participants can withdraw their consent to the processing of their personal data at any time and Participants may exercise this right to withdraw their consent by contacting us at: info@waterfrontmarket.ae. Please include in the subject line of the withdrawal email: “Consent Withdrawal”. If a Participant withdraws their consent to our processing their personal data before the end of the Campaign, we may be unable to contact the Participants relating to the Campaign. The withdrawal by a Participant of their consent will not affect any processing of their personal data that took place prior to the withdrawal.
